BLACK SEEDINGS: an evening of new work by Downtown Negro (creator & performer). In collaboration with Trevor Hayes (together as Downtown Negro w. special guest Maya Riley), BLACK SEEDLINGS is a sharing of new ideas, forms, and stories centered on reimagining the past, healing the present, and building an Afrofuture future. 


JUNE 2019

Dreams in Black Major (creator & performer) is at Ars Nova ANT Fest on JUNE 6 at 7pm! DIBM is an Afrofuturist event about celebrating Blackness and actualizing dreams. It's a For Us, By Us piece that brings together the Black community for a night of building our own Afro-futures. For tickets: arsnovanyc.com/antfest/6.6

What A World! What A World! (performer) is also at Ars Nova ANT Fest on JUNE 5 at 7pm! This comedy deconstructs the gendered antics of Hollywood melodrama through a queer storytelling lens. For tickets: arsnovanyc.com/antfest/6.5


Building Bridges, the international arts collaboration (with schools from NYC, Sweden, Estonia, Finland, & Switzerland) meets in New York City to further develop their interdisciplinary work centering on heritage.

GRADUATION! - I just graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama! It was an honor to be the Banner Bearer for the Department of Drama and be recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Studio (Experimental Theatre Wing). 

Dreams in Black Major (creator & performer) starts rehearsals for Ars Nova ANT Fest! 

APRIL 2019

Dreams in Black Major (creator & performer) has its debut at the National Black Theatre as a part of my Independent Project at NYU/ Tisch Drama/ Experimental Theatre Wing. The night was a true celebration of Blackness and Black community. 

How's God? She's Dreaming (creator) premieres at a final screening for Bryce Dallas Howard's 9 Muses Lab at NYU Tisch Drama. This documentary is part two of a documentary series (How's God); this episode being about finding, creating, and celebrating Black space. How's God? She's Dreaming. is the Afrofuturist's Guide to Making Black Space. In this documentary, I share my process of creating and realizing my play, Dreams in Black Major in hopes that it will provide tactics that will inspire and empower audience members.
